French Keyboard

This French keyboard allows you to type French special characters without installing any software. You can use your regular keyboard for standard characters and click the on-screen buttons for special French characters. All text remains private and runs locally on your device.

Typing Tips

Here are some helpful tips for typing in French:

  • Use the buttons above to add accented vowels (é, è, ê, ë, etc.)
  • Hold Shift to access uppercase versions of special characters (É, È, Ê, Ë, etc.)
  • French uses guillemets (« ») for quotations instead of English-style quotation marks
  • The cedilla (ç) is used to soften the 'c' sound before a, o, and u
  • French uses ligatures (æ, œ) in certain words like "cœur" (heart) and "curriculum vitæ"
  • You can copy and paste your text using the buttons in the top right corner

You can type most text using your regular keyboard and only use these special characters when needed.
